Silent Study Pods Boost Focus and Productivity at Zhengzhou University Library

Recently, Zhengzhou University Library has sparked discussion due to the installation of brand-new "silent study pods." This innovative initiative provides students with a dedicated quiet learning space, helping them improve their study efficiency. The silent pods are equipped with comfortable sofas and ample power outlets, and boast excellent soundproofing, making them an ideal place for students to prepare for exams and interviews.

According to Zhengzhou University staff, the use of the silent pods is free, but requires booking through the library's reservation platform. To prevent resource waste, the university has set a limit of one reservation per student per day, with each session lasting between half an hour and two hours. This restriction aims to ensure that more students can benefit from this facility.

The official WeChat account of Zhengzhou University Library has also published the rules for using the silent pods, detailing the reservation and check-in process. Students can make online reservations through the WeChat official account or quickly reserve a pod by scanning a QR code on-site, greatly facilitating their use.

The silent pods are open from 7:30 AM to 10:00 PM daily. Users must check in within 15 minutes before or after their reserved time. If they fail to check in within the specified time, the system will automatically release the pod and record the violation. This measure not only improves the efficiency of use but also promotes student self-discipline.

During use, students must adhere to certain behavioral guidelines, such as closing the pod door to ensure soundproofing and refraining from smoking and eating. These regulations help maintain the environment inside the pods, allowing each user to concentrate in a quiet space.

It's worth noting that in addition to single-person silent pods, the library also provides multi-person silent pods, suitable for group discussions and collaborative learning. This design not only addresses students' learning needs but also provides an ideal environment for group projects, avoiding external distractions.
